Netscape Communicator 4.7 Setup Instructions

1. Home Page Address
  1. Select the Edit menu, then Prefrences.
  2. Set the Category to Navigator.
  3. Set the Home page, Location field to http://www.i.net.au

2. Configuring the Proxy Server
  1. No longer required
  2. If you currently have a proxy selected please remove it.
3. Mail Identity Preferences
  1. Open the Mail & Newsgroups menu. (Note: if this option doesn't exist you will need to obtain a version of Netscape Communicator with the Messager component)
  2. Select Identity.
  3. Enter Your Name in the place provided.
  4. Your email address is your username followed by @i.net.au Eg. username@i.net.au
    (Note: If you have your own domain name, your email address may be different)
  5. Leave the reply address blank, your email address will be used for the return address.
  6. Press OK to continue.

4. Mail Server Preferences
  1. Select Mail Servers.
  2. Edit the default Incoming Mail Servers, or press add if one is not present.
  3. Set the Server Name to be mail.i.net.au
  4. The Server Type is a POP3 Server.
  5. Enter your username in the User Name field.
  6. Press OK.
  7. Set the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server to mail.i.net.au

5. News Server Preferences
  1. Select Newsgroup Servers.
  2. Delete the default news server called news.
  3. Press Add to add a new server.
  4. Enter news.i.net.au as the Server.
  5. Press OK.
